Challenge block revealed

This is my entry into the challenge at Confessions of a Fabric Addict. We were to design and make only one block and use the system in Joan Ford's book, Cut the Scraps.  The pieces in the block should be 5", 3 1/2", and 2" (before they were sewn).  This is what I came up with... It'd look great if it was scrappier. I know there are some interesting secondary designs that would occur when the blocks were put together. I hope they get lots of use out of this design. They are a church group that makes charity quilts and gives them to people who need help.  (I donated some blocks I didn't want to work on anymore, and they made a lovely quilt that they gave to a young man with stage 4 melanoma.)

Sew that is it for this time. Find me over on the linky party at Confessions.

  1. I can envision scrappy and secondary patterns with this block, very interesting. Fantastic block!

  2. Terri this is a great block with loads of potential. Great job.

  3. I really want to see the secondary patterns this one makes!!

  4. That's a great block, Terri! I can't wait to graph it out and see the secondary patterns!!

  5. I would love to make a ton of these and twist and turn to see all the possibilities! Great job!

  6. Great block & design! Thanks for entering your block in the challenge!
