I B Bastin'

Well almost....

It's up on the wall, just not pinned on yet. The backing and batting are pinned on, but I really tugged on the batting to get out the wrinkles last night, so I want to repin it before I pin on the top. I think if I baste it now the batting would sieze up and pucker the top something awful. Anyway, I just wanted to get it onto Sarah's blog so I can be part of her "Can I get a Whoop Whoop" today.  Check it out. There are lots of pretty quilts on the linky party ahead of me.

Thanks for stopping by!                                 Hugs,

  1. I love this sweet quilt. I so know what you mean about wrinkles in a quilt sandwich!
I have started ironing my back as flat as I can iron it. Then I iron my batting. Then I iron my top. Then smooth them together front, back, over and over. Then I iron the sandwich back side and front side. Then I baste with catch pins. It's difficult, but it sure works. I saw a beginner quilter do it that way, she thought she was supposed to iron it all separately and then together. She quilted it on a domestic machine with NO PROBLEM AT ALL! So I started ironing my quilts like crazy, too :D

  2. It looks gorgeous. I love that backing too!

I just let my batting "relax" for a day before I start basting (I usually hang it on the line or lay it flat on a bed somewhere )
