Orchid blooming and Piggy Bank Contents

This orchid bloomed last year in WA state.... and now in WI it is blooming again!  Yay.

And here is the "take" from my Piggy Bank Challenge. $166.25 (and a few dollars left in the can again as seed money for next year.)!  There was also 2 hair pins and a fake dollar that only works at the local laundramat.  Thank you Val for the incentive to save the extra loot. I don't know what I'll buy with it, maybe groceries!!!!  No, that wouldn't be fun. Guess I've gotta go to the fabric store...

  1. You have a whole new quilt there, in that can. Make something for yourself this time.

  3. Youare so very welcome and good job!! I need to get better at my own challenge! LOL!! But a penny saved is a penny earned and I get to treat myself to something special. The hairpins cracked me up as my daughter is ALWAYS leaving those darn things laying around. Whatever you do...spoil YOURSELF! You deserve it. :)V

    1. I do intend to spoil myself this time. I have the idea to buy a nice dress to wear to my 50 year class reunion next month. Thanks for the good advice.

  5. Love that orchid! Congratulations on it surviving the move and also...on your impressive challenge savings.

By the way, I love the quilt in your header.

  6. I say use the money for something you'd never generally buy but want. There's a thread holder for the machine made by martelli for instance, or a travel bag, or jewelry. Something different and something you can look at later and remember. LeeAnna

    1. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment. I was thinking I'd get a nice dress for my 50 year class reunion next month. Nothing pretentious, something I could wear to church afterwards.

  7. It is such fun having "extra" money to just spend at will, but then the hard part starts, and which is having to decide what to buy.
