Crumb Quilt Coming Along

I've been making a mess...
As I sewed I also ironed and trimmed. (See said trimmings below.)  I could probably make a dozen of these quilts out of snippets and still have all that stash.

So here are the blocks so far. One block is leftover from a quilt I was making for my oldest son and his wife, but they didn't like it, so I donated it to my favorite quilt charity.  There is a snowball block from my grandson Christopher's quilt, and two paper pieced items (the star, and a lime green tree with a pink background) from a wall hanging I abandoned.

The blocks are all different shapes and sizes.  I really didn't think ahead to how they should go into a quilt. I've just been enjoying the process.

Hope you all are praying for out friend, Debby at Stitchin Therapy. She's been in the hospital, and as I understand, they just figured out what has her hands and feet numb... lack of Vitamin B12. Who would figure that out? Sounds like it is a slow recovery.

Anyway, have a lovely "Hump" day, and enjoy your sewing with Debby in mind.

Terri

Progress on the Scrap Quilt

It's Friiiiiiiidaaaaay!

I did do a little work this week on the Free Form Scrap Quilt. (Tonight I'm going to sit and glean through all my scrap bags and see what else there is. I've gotten into the one with the most orange, I guess. There are other colors. Honest.)

Next week I'll show you my cramped sewing room. It's workable.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Linking Up to Save $$

It's that time again to link up to Val's Piggy Bank Challenge.  Use this link, or see her "button" on the right side. You have until August 1 to link up.

I saved  $166.25 this last year, and I left some seed money in the savings can (pictured below).

I haven't purchased anything yet. I really don't need any fabric... (Moving twice within the last two years has me talking crazy like this.)  I really don't know what I'll buy with the special money. I was going to buy a nice dress for my class reunion and to wear to church, but looks like we won't be wearing dresses as it is "summer casual".  I did get a dress already from Zulily that I didn't like when it arrived - and they have a NO return policy, so I do have a church dress.  What are you all buying? I probably already have everything a quilty girl could want. Maybe some new rotary blades and a replacement 5" wide cutting ruler. (I've worn off some of the lines on mine... have it for decades already.)

I am going to save the change though. It's a nice side plot in my life.

Happy Coin Collecting!

Scraps Galore

Some weeks ago I hit a wall. Didn't want to work on the started quilts, didn't know what to do with myself... I came across a bag of snippets. They were saved to make quilts with someday. Sew I started -  with the bag next to the sewing machine I sewed pieces together (with abandon), ironed, cut, and sewed them together again...

Here's what that is turning into... the most work I've ever put into such a little bit of "quilt"
.
Quite angular and geometric. It's hard for me to do. I'm trying to be Free.  I never know when a piece is done.
Anyway, I'm adding this to  Em's Moving It Forward linky this morning. Come on over and see what else is there.

Thunderstorms and rain here today.

Hugs,
Terri

Orchid blooming and Piggy Bank Contents

This orchid bloomed last year in WA state.... and now in WI it is blooming again!  Yay.

And here is the "take" from my Piggy Bank Challenge. $166.25 (and a few dollars left in the can again as seed money for next year.)!  There was also 2 hair pins and a fake dollar that only works at the local laundramat.  Thank you Val for the incentive to save the extra loot. I don't know what I'll buy with it, maybe groceries!!!!  No, that wouldn't be fun. Guess I've gotta go to the fabric store...

Hot Pink and Lime Green a Favorite Combo

Even though I'm playing hooky for a while I did make a couple pieces of the right colors...

These below are from last year, before pink and lime were a designated combo.  Guess I'm ahead of the times.

Putting these up on soscrappy for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

Happy Summer Everyone.

Terri
