Snow on May 8th

It really isn't anything new here, but I took pictures to remember the event.  (Shout out to my Sis, who now lives in Florida... We got some and you didn't!)

You can't see it coming down like crazy - camera can't capture the big flakes in the driving wind, maybe you can see it against the tree trunk. It's starting to stick on roofs and grass. I heard snow thunder 3 time so far.

And now some other kind of insanity... I got it to a flimsy and ironed it!  Sharing it belatedly on

Happy Spring - LOL

Mother Nature's Trick or Treat

We are having a blizzard!

And the snow is still falling... sideways. (25 years ago they had 4 ft. of snow over 4 days time over  Halloween. We missed that as we were living in CA at the time.)

Have a Great Weekend.

Terri

Bits and Pieces

Some random pictures today...

One of my CA roses blooming indoors because other wise there is snow, ice and below 0 temps. as seen below.  Did you ever notice that roses bloom different colors in adverse conditions. I had a white one that would bloom pink when the weather got cold. This one is usually bright red one side of the petal and white on the other. White is still there, but there's pink on the other side of the petal... They also seem to have developed a peco on the petals that wasn't there before. Oh well, it sure cheers up the place.
All our windows in this house (the 'new' one in Superior Wisconsin) have blinds inside the 2 panes of glass. Can't see out very well. I love to see it snow, but it's a bit difficult with these 'new and improved' windows. On this picture it's snowing, can you tell? This is the view out the back of the house.
I got some wonderful Christmas gifts! This one included fabric. I thought you might like to see it. The white has gold in patches - looks like gold leaf - very pretty.

Thanks to all who stop to see and leave me a comment. I've missed this lovely community.

Hugs,
Terri

We are here, but not quite all there....

So we got here and just before the moving van got to our house we found out that the owner would allow us to move our stuff into the house, but we couldn't live there even offering to pay rent! That was July 23 and we are still staying in a motel waiting for the U.S. Bank's underwriter to figure out that we are reliable people. You wouldn't believe the different things that woman is asking for... papers that were in the package of papers we gave the loan officer. I figure the only thing left to ask for is our underwear sizes. LOL

So here are some pictures taken on our trip from Vancouver Washington (state) to Superior Wisconsin.

Sunset across the Columbia River seen from the from the Oregon side... looking back at Washington.

It was great weather the whole way... the storms stayed off the road.

Long vistas in Wyoming (another W state).
Carpet at one of the motels... I don't even remember which one.... Looked like a quilt to me.

Hubby's breakfast.... Pancake maker was nearly empty. LOL

Fab fabric I bought at the quilt store in Wyoming. The only fabric store I went to on our trip... Keama's Quilts in Green River, WY.

Here's some  more of the purchase... The rodeo rider is the image from the Wyoming State License Plate. The local high school printed the fabric especially for her store.
The ladies are very helpful and friendly and they do business online, too. Here is their web address.

She has lots of fabric, books, notions, specialty rulers, etc. I got this book. Shopping was almost the best part of the trip.

I know what you're thinking. What could be better than fabric shopping?  How about being carded?  I got carded at Red Robin Restaurant in Utah.  Not once, but twice for one (1) margarita. Utah cards anyone who orders a drink, not once but twice. That was the best! I'd never been carded before, mostly cause I don't drink that much. I guess I proved that I was over 21. (I'm more than 3 times that.)

I guess getting here safely was the best thing - all my plants made it without incident. I'm glad that's over.
Looking forward to blogging and reading yours. I've been away too long.

So I thought I'd stay away...

but I just couldn't. I took some pictures I want to share with you, and then I'm going to go mess up my sewing room again. LOL

Us in the airport at MSP (Minneapolis-St.Paul, Minnesota). A nice young couple wanted their picture taken here, so we took theirs and they took ours. We had to bend waaaay down to fit our faces. I guess it was only for kids, but we are kids, just antique kids.

This is our new house. 3 bedrooms 3 baths - one on each floor (perfect for an old lady). 1650 square feet of rooms plus a full basement and 2 car garage.

And last week this was the state of my orchids. A whole bunch more bloomed. Whatever I'm doing, they like it. (That's not just a oatmeal box there in the front, that's my granddaughter's invention, a 'Hersey' - her 3 or 4 year old pronunciation of horsey. It's a plastic golf club for the stick. I can still see her galloping through the house using that.... she's 19 next month. Aren't you glad I didn't mention your name, Rachael?  It's one of my bestest memories, and one of my best sentimental possessions. (It'll be there in my house until I'm gone.)

Without the very excellent memories.

Here is what the sewing room looks like now. Still more packing to do. I have a project set out to work on, but I'll have to be careful not to make a big mess. I don't want to clean anymore.
(Ashleigh, you need to come over and help make this quilt quick before I move away.)

This is the prize I made up for the H2H. It was going to be 8 different 1/8th pieces, but I couldn't cut that small... really, can anyone use that little a bit of fabric. So I cut fat quarters (somewhat loosely), and made sure that there was a designer name on it, if I had it.
It was won by Jocelyn Pleus.  Just waiting for her to send me her snail mail address.

 Sew have a wonderful week,
Hugs
