I'm a winner!!! and I have Boobs to send off!

You will never guess that I'm a winner!!!  I won the prize on Online Quilting, a rotary cutter holder - it came in the mail today... check out the picture below to see it. (I'm going to use it for my sunglasses in my purse.)

She also sent a lovely  flower pin that she'd made, a bag of buttons (I put on some dark fabric so you could see them better), a card of hand sewing needles and one of her fabulous quilted post cards!!!! So much more than I expected when I left a comment.  Thank you so much Lis!!!!!

Found these while cleaning last week. ( I guess there is some value in cleaning.)  They got lost because of cleaning, so I guess they were meant to be found that way, too.  They are paper pieced and I simplified the pattern from the book 365 Foundation Quilt Blocks  by Linda Causee.  I don't know what I'll do with them.  Maybe I can cut one down far enough to use it for Victoria's signature block donation.  We'll see.

Here is the latest batch of Boobs to be sent off.  They are coming your way, Nina.
One is a star from the wall hanging that isn't quite going anywhere.  One is a  paper pieced cardinal leftover from Christmas cards that I never took pictures of. One is a pink flower from the quilt I am working on now. Three of them are  leftover Drunkard's Path blocks used to make a vest - either the one for my Mom, or the one I made for me. Three are quilted. Most are made with scraps from my snippet bags. They are fun to make especially when I don't know what else to do with myself. I use leftover batting and the backs are from larger pieces... mostly from a skirt I got tired of before I finished it. (I have never sewn many of my own clothes, and the things I did make for myself I really never liked to wear.  What is that?)
Anyway, thanks for tuning in... Going to have a giveaway later this week... I just don't know what yet.
So come on back!
Love you all,
Terri

More (bragging) about my boobs!

First, let me welcome all my new followers!  I'm so pleased you have signed up!

Now I bet you folks thought this was a quilt blog - oh, and a card idea place.  (In all my posts so far there has been no cards featured... that's because I can't wait to send them once they are completed. I'm like a little kid that way, I guess.)  Anyway, this post is to brag on my boobs yet again.  You can see them at
Nina Lise's blog. There are others there, too.  Fancy ones, and plain ones and some that are in between.  Go have a look see.  You have to scan down a few posts to see mine.  I've donated the most and I'm putting out a challenge (sans button, cause I really don't know how to make one yet) to all you quilters and sewers -MAKE SOME BOOBS, try to beat my record. (Just so you know it's 29, but I am still making some so you'll have to do better than that! You can see how on Make a Boob (same link as above).  It's a cause for Breast Cancer!!

a closer look

Would you like a closer look at my Make a Boob offerings - they go into the mail tomorrow. Click on the pictures to get an even closer look.

Some of the paper pieced butterflies.

Some of the free pieced fabric - just scraps from the scrap bags.

Some of my boobs actually have birds or butterflies or crayons on them!
They are just basically fabric on two sides of a bit of leftover batting... Just like making a quilt. only round and small.  It's a good cause, and a way to reduce your stash or scraps. There is no set amount you'd have to make... Make one for every victim you know.  I have saved one out for my little vic.  She had her third  round of chemo last Tuesday, and just starting to feel better now - on Sunday. ~ Pause for a little cry. ~

That's it for me.  Come back tomorrow for a shocking reveal of my messy studio.
Love to all my followers and to all of yours,
Terri

The big reveal!

Today, as promised, here are the pictures of my boobs.  I've been working on them during the Christmas events (after the gifts were made and shipped) and now I'm ready to share them with you.

I am diplaying my boobs as the Mother Goddess statue in a challenge to other sewing bloggers to make and share their boobs, for a very worthy cause that I will share later in this post.  For now we will go to the pictures:

Oops, this is the Goddess I thought had the multiboobs, but time has tricked my memory, and alas she looks more like my real self.  No, the Goddess statue that I wanted is this one:

Go to fullsize image

She is just covered in boobs!  She is Artemis of Ephesus, a goddess of ancient Rome... Mother Goddess.
And here is my picture, a modern interpretation of Artemis:

The front boobs are made with leftover paperpieced butterflies from my #1 DIL's quillt.

The back boobs are  pieced from scraps sewn together out of my scrap bin... this was lots of fun!
Sew!  the challenge to other sewers is to make yourself into an Artemis of Ephesus and sew lots of boobs for Mrs. Moen's breast cancer charity. Before you send them to her, take a moment, pin them to your shirt and make yourself into the Goddess that you know you are!  You can find the directions and information on the Make a Boob blog at:  http://makeaboob.blogspot.com/
Remember to get your Mamagram and if you are younger than 40 and have pain in your boobs, fight with your doctor for one.  My family knows that younger women CAN get breast cancer, and that early detection can save you a world of chemo, surgery and radiation.  (I just wish I didn't know this.)
So that about wraps it up for today.
Love to all you followers!!!

Amazes me every time!

It always amazes me how many are blogging, and I'm sure I've just scratched the surface. I started reading the quilter ones that I could find, and since then I have found Zentangle ones, recipe ones, and now there are the card and scrap ones.  I've just been on an amazing Blog Hop.  Hero Arts is coming out with new art rubber stamps, and is showing them off through their designers on their blogs.  I learned new techniques and had lots of fun seeing the new stamps.  If you like that sort of thing go to The Hero Club Blog at:
http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/
You'll find all the names of the designers to click on and go to see their creations. Lots of fun!

Well, I am now famous for my beautiful boobs.  If you'd like to see them, in two (no less) places on the web, just use these two links.  They are pictured there for anybody to see at Make a Boob.  http://makeaboob.blogspot.com/2010/12/boob-mail-terri.html
and at Mrs. Moen's blog
http://mrsmoen.blogspot.com/2010/12/boob-call.html
You can learn how to make some to send and share in the giving at this link to Make a Boob
http://mrsmoen.blogspot.com/2010/12/boob-call.html
I am enjoying not only the making, and sharing for a good cause, but also the naughty bragging!  Mine are now internationally known.
Well, I think that's enough naughtiness for me today.  Christmas is coming up, you know, and I can't get caught being too naughty by Santa.  He sees it all.
Love you all, you know.

Make some Boobs for breast cancer!

First, I want to say a Thousand Thanks to all the Veterans out there.  Your sacrifice is very much appreciated in our house. We have 2 Veteran sons, my Hubby is a Vet, my Dad was in WWII and at least one of my Grandpas was in WWI.  (They cover Air Force and Army, and Army/Air Force.)  And to the Disabled Veterans a double Thank You.  I'm sure we all wish there was some way to repay you all!
God Bless You!

I wasn't going to blog today... not ready with the tutorial on  book covers, but I found this on Mrs. Moen's blog.  She's from a Scandinavian country - Denmark, I think - and I enjoy her blog very much.  Anyway, she has started this project for breast cancer.  Go check it out.

Mrs. Moen's breast cancer project

I made 2 pair already.  They are pink and rough cut, so the ladies there can cut them out however they wish. (I won't show mine as they are rough cut, and not so pretty... and I want you to go to her blog and see how easy they are to make.)  I'm thinking I'll make some more, too.  Gotta do something... I have fabric. LOL (You know that is an understatement!) and I have time.  I've made a few mug rugs for my DD to share with people she meets while waiting for tests and such.  She's been diagnosed and now faces all kinds of tests, doctor visits, etc.  She's always been a giving person, and now has to give up some of her volunteer activities. I know she is missing that... so this way she will have something to share... and I will feel like I've donated to her wellness. (We live 600 miles apart.) Don't feel sorry for her... she wouldn't want that, but you can pray for her.  She is in good spirits - as usual - and she is following the doctor's advice. All seems to indicate a positive outcome. Pray and promote Global Smiling!

Thanks for stopping in. I love all my followers!  Leave a comment. Heck, leave two, I could use some company!
