Or Kid Blooms

Two years ago in Washington State it bloomed... now again.

ANNND it happened in this darkest time of the year!

Here are some other poses...

too much flash, too far away

forgot to turn the image

too far away to see the purple veins, but you can see my Southern Magnolia from a seed.

too far away

So there it is - My Joy for the day! (It doesn't take much these days are so dark and dreary.) (Second runner up for Joy of the day would probably be how my hair turned out when I rolled the front - see what I mean... not much.)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Terri

Orchid blooming and Piggy Bank Contents

This orchid bloomed last year in WA state.... and now in WI it is blooming again!  Yay.

And here is the "take" from my Piggy Bank Challenge. $166.25 (and a few dollars left in the can again as seed money for next year.)!  There was also 2 hair pins and a fake dollar that only works at the local laundramat.  Thank you Val for the incentive to save the extra loot. I don't know what I'll buy with it, maybe groceries!!!!  No, that wouldn't be fun. Guess I've gotta go to the fabric store...

Life is Good!

New bloomers

You know that old phrase "Bloom where you are planted"?  Well, finally after about 20 years this orchid from Hawaii did.
In the old days you could bring home plants (that were okayed by the government) from Hawaii. On our first trip there I bought 2 orchids. One died... here's the other one -

 One picture this way, and
one that way... same plant, 3 blooms. And April is the purple month, so it's quite timely.  I'm very happy to finally see what it looks like.  No Ashleigh, this isn't like the one I gave you. Yours will blossom with little blue flowers.
At least there is something going on in the sewing room.
Hugs,
