Not Doin' Nuthin'

You will notice there is no blue butterfly here...
I've got the pattern all set up to sew... #1s are in place on the paper piecing patterns, but no sewing. Machine is in the shop. I'm cutting 2.5" squares of color in an attempt to not go screaming down the street. So far it's purples from the scrap bin.  I'm thinking of a circle of squares quilt - found an easy pattern at Kathy's Quilts.  I've saved it on "favorites" for a while now.

Here is the stack so far. Doing it in front of the TV with a little lap desk and cutting mat.

Pretty orange flowers in my back yard.

and my potted rose (from CA - a cutting) blooming again this year.

Another

Just finished another yellow butterfly. This one (with the orange) is made the way the pattern is built... lots of pieces.

 

 New one shown next to the cheater. Same pattern, but the all yellow is made by ignoring all kinds of little pieces. I like it better than the orangy one.

 The close up shows I made the body wrong.... oh well.  Individuals may vary!

 

 

 

Starting a blue one. Notice I got the crayons out and marked the blue parts. This will be a cheater, too. I like them better.  Wings on the right, body on the left. Hope I can finish it before Saturday.
