I started this last year for my Sister-in-Law as a hostess gift for inviting us to Thanksgiving... It didn't get done. I made the 5 paper pieced Mimbulus Mimbletonias, but after that I was stumped as to what to do with them. What colors to use, what quilting to add, and quite afraid my skills wouldn't make a good enough product. I gathered up the blocks and fabrics and set it all aside. Tuesday I decided to finish it after remembering something my drawing teacher taught us... photographic renderings were for cameras. Art work is made by humans and while not perfect, brings more insight to the piece.
Here's the piece, a table runner.
These close-ups show the real colors. (The pattern comes from Fandom in Stitches the Harry Potter section. I've made many of them. It's a great houseplant - no watering, no sunshine required.)
The binding is red roses, and brings out the MM flowers. Hope she likes it.
So this is to wish you all a Merry Christmas, and a Happy Holiday of your choice.
Hugs,
Terri
Oh this is so lovely--I am sure she will love it...I do!! hugs, Julierose

ReplyDeleteA very nice piece. I stopped by because I thought they were cacti. But I like them anyway. You do nice work.
ReplyDeleteOh, how cute is that? Lot of pieces in those blocks. You did a great job designing the layout!
