Three Flags for Sue

Here's what I've been doing these past few weeks. They aren't difficult, I just work slowly, and I had to repair some mistakes.

They will be made into quilts by Alycia  at Alycia Quilts, to celebrate Sue's life of  making quilts for Quilts of Valor.  Check it out, you have until Sept. 1. I made three for my three kids.

Terri

On Assignment for my Sister

Bet you thought I fell in the well...LOL
Well, I'm back.

My sis took me to lunch yesterday and we laughed like crazy - you gotta laugh about some things or you'd cry... we are old enough to know this bit of wisdom. When she got home she asked about a piece of fabric she thought she might have given to me.   I looked, Kid, but I didn't find it..  This is the closest I came, and  it is only about a fat  quarter in size.

But I thank you for giving me the reason to fondle my two boxes of multicolored fabrics - I found so many beautiful pieces that I haven't used yet. Besides fabric there was a good fabric scissors and another rotary cutter I couldn't find.  Here are some pictures.

Some  of the witches I made for Halloween cards years ago.

My special pull of fabrics for Harry Potter blocks.  I haven't made any lately, but I think I'll get back into that. There are lots of new patterns I haven't tried yet.  The 5 or 6 on the right are for Hagrid's Hut, and the yellow dotted ones in the center are saved for Butter beer. The rest just look magical to me.  So happy to have found these.

Above and below are fabrics purchased for clothing, as yet not used.

Another piece for a blouse (now that is an old fashioned word) or top. Fairies and butterflies!
Below my favorite pin cushion that never had a pin in it.

So I'm hoping this cures my quilter's block. I found lots of fabric that needs using, and it sure cheered me right up.

Love to you all and especially you, Barb.  (I think you just tricked me into fondling all that fabric. Thank you again.)

Val's Giveaway!

butterflies shown from a previous blog

I love blogging... you wouldn't know it from the few blogs I've written lately, but I do enjoy it. I need something to blog about, though.  I haven't done much to show off lately.  Val from Val's Quilting Studio has given me a reason. She is having a giveaway at her blog. Go on over there and see what's up.
I love her blog recycling linky party. It's a chance to look at previous blogs on a given subject. I especially like looking through mine for something to share.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Terri

Pink Geese

You know how I like to paper piece.  I've been missing it, soooooo

I already have 5 strips of turquois geese, so I made pink ones ...

I've got 2 more strips to make in pink.  I need to make a quilt for my nephew's wedding now . He's getting married July 15 so I'd better get to it.  Wish me luck.

Have a wonderful weekend.

H2H Finish

Woohoo! I just now finished the second quilt for H2H.

Finished the binding this morning - machined on both sides, sew easy and sew quick. Below are some of my favorite oranges. This one is for Happy Chemo.

And the one below is for the Canadian choice who wanted flimsies. It was really fun to make and not have to worry about binding or quilting.  I'd make this quilt again.

I'm sorry, Sarah, that I took so long to get finished.  Thanks for the extension.

This is my very first Finish It Up Friday post... post #599.  I'm listing it at crazy mom quilts  Come back for a giveaway on post 600.
.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Terri

My Spring Flowers

Yes, the only flowers we have are the ones indoors.  We had a blizzard last week and now all that snow is gone. Tulips are coming up, but just the leaves so far.
This first picture is of a geranium that my Hubby got from one of the teachers he worked for last year. (He's a substitute teacher since we moved here and the taxes are so high we need help paying our bills.)

The above and one below are my Crown of Thorns blooming. The flowers are an intense red orange, but the sunshine bleached the color out on the pictures.

And you know this one... it blooms almost all the time.  So I do have some cheery flowers - but not the spring flowers you all are showing. Heck, we still have snow in the forecast .. (You know weathermen like to be wrong.)

Happy Monday!

Hugs,
Terri
