June Oneth!

Rainbow Scrap Challenge has set the colors for June 2016 for blues and lime green! Just the colors I want to use for a Storm At Sea for my Alyssa (granddaughter).  I'm starting a wedding quilt for her...
Still working on the Love Ring (uses the Drunkard's Path pattern) for another granddaughter (Rachael) getting married some time (this month?). They'll probably be given late... I'm no where near to the finish.
Val is looking for a few good quilters to join in her I Spy fabric exchange. Check her blog for the rules. I have some fabrics, but not the right stuff.

My African Violet is really outdoing itself this year. I've pinched a few of the leaves and started 4 for the Halloween giveaway.  Hope they all take. Here I think that indoor plants will be more desired. Lots of the plants I brought with me have died. Lack of sunshine, is the cause, I think.

Well, back to the secret project that everyone knows about... I was just too excited about it not to share.  Got a star nearly done and two different hands cut out and fabric chosen. Gotta find a few more patterns, (Just remembered some butterflies I made years ago.) maybe some I Spy fabrics, too.  (Star, below, still needs to be sewn together.)

Sew, that is all from here. Hope your there is sunny and warm... we are not!

Hugs,
Terri

Paper Piecing Project

Shhhhh
It's a secret... I don't think any of you will recognize this bit of it. But I just had to do some paper piecing. It's been a long time.

So far this is all I've done.... more to come.

Terri

Finished the H2H for 2016

Just finished the binding.... pink.  Here's the quilt (held up by the Zombie Hubby Hands).

 Close-ups

and this is the backing fabric.

It's getting sent to Happy Chemo... in honor of my Daughter.  As long as I can quilt and Sarah runs her charity, I'll make one for this charity.

Hope you are having some lovely spring weather. We got up to 65 today!

Hugs,
Terri

Spring? in Superior W

Pictures taken yesterday = Wednesday. (Saturday we are forecasted to have SNOW again.)

Rhubarb - got any good recipes?  I need the kind with little sugar or a sugar substitute.  I'm too sweet already.

Daffodils just started .... anybody know what the pink composite flower is? I've got a lot of it.

Sorry this is so blurry. Anybody recognize it?
I'm so happy to see the tulips coming up. I've got yellow and white in other gardens. (Notice it was so overcast the dandelions didn't open for the day.) AND there will be irises! I have missed having those since the 90s.

Today I'm finishing my H2H quilt. 3/4 of the binding left to do, then I'll show it off again.

Thanks for stopping in. I'd love if you left a comment.

Terri

H2H being quilted

I'm having a devil of a time getting this one done. The thread keeps breaking. I've rethreaded, changed the needles twice, next I'm checking the bobbin for near emptiness, and last I'll change spools.
Here's the quilt on the machine.

I'm quilting a zig zag pattern in the rows that parallels the row before. I like the look, but all that pivoting might be the stress on the thread.

Linking up with the H2H site.  Go on over there and look at the other charity entries. It's my favorite charity.

P.S. Happy Mom's Day!

Hugs,
Terri

Latest picture of the Great Grandboy! Just turned 3 months old and at 5-6 months old on motor skills, personality. Isn't he cute!  GG is so proud.

In sewing news - I started quilting the H2H quilt. Got 5 rows done. Just doing a zig zag down each row.  I like the look. Picture when it's done.

H2H Flimsy Finished and Ironed

Yay! I wish I had worked more steadily on this.... It looks so much better after it was ironed.

Here's a center look at the flimsy finish.   Some close-ups below.

I started with a busy and colorful focus fabric. I like using multiple white on white prints, too. Keeps me from getting bored.

And here's my Christmas cactus blooming waaay late or waaay early.

That's the latest here. Thanks for tuning in.
Hugs,
Terri
