Here are the pics.
I used a very textured brown for the binding. Blocks are paper pieced and are 3.5" finished.
Love this little alien along the outside.
And this angel is representative of his auntie who he will not meet until he, too, passes on.
And the back... yes, I quilted each square separately. (Please don't let me do that again!)
My grandson has 2 dogs, so this backing seems appropriate. I just hope the quilt doesn't become the dogs' bed, it's a game, and because of that I put on a hanging sleeve so it can be hung in his room and played.
So this is my Friday Finish.... I've been working on it for longer than a year, so does that still count?
Linking up with the Whoop Whoop (Sarah) at Confessions of a Fabric Addict (see her button on the side bar) and listed at 116, I think, on Amanda's Crazy Mom Quilts.
Have a wonderful weekend. (I'm going to a birthday party tomorrow!!!!)
Hugs,
Terri
The quilt is wonderful. It's perfect for a little guy's birthday. There are plenty of things to keep him interested. I love the way the blocks are angled.
ReplyDeleteGreat I spy quilt! I love making them so much fun with all the different fabrics. I can't believe you quilted each square! Good work! Hope he loves it!
ReplyDeleteLove your Eye Spy quilt, Terri. My granddaughters and I enjoyed your quilt pictures. Looked at all your blocks. Your grandson is going to love it :D
ReplyDeleteGreat I Spy quilt as a finish. What a tour de force quilting you did - each square! Sure to be a hit. Have fun at the party, and thanks for linking up at Hexie Friday - all eye candy appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! What a great way to use all the fun, fussy cut fabrics. I love how you included a block for your daughter. What?!?!?! We're supposed to FINISH a project in a year or less?????? Oh No! I've been behind for YEARS now on most of my projects. Oh well, that Queen of unfinished projects really fits me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a super quilt--love those doggies on the back, too. Deadlines are scarey...but you did it! congratulations..on a job well done...hugs, Julierose

Oh, my...that is one of the CUTEST I Spy quilts I've ever seen. And I've participated in a bunch of I Spy swaps but you have some really original fabrics I've never seen.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your original post of this I Spy quilt!!! (And love even more I have some matching eye spy fabrics!) Soooo have he kept it out of the dog bed???
ReplyDeleteThis continues to be my favorite eye spy quilt!! So glad you linked it under our Tuesday Archive "Fussy Cut" theme.
DeleteThis is adorable! The way you did the novelty prints in the middle of each block, they remind me of Memory cards -- you know, that matching game where the toddlers always win!
ReplyDeleteTilted square is another setting I like a lot.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I love the doggies on the back.
