Finally I finished something!

The frond or palm leaf I finished a couple of weeks ago. It went together quite fast, and I'm thinking about a whole quilt of them... all green with different color backgrounds.  Sort of a color study.

Then my sister, Barbara, gave me a booklet of 24 paper pieced flower patterns.  (Drool)  They are beautiful.  I just had to make one right away.  You know me, I made every mistake you can make... some I left as is, but there was a bunch of unsewing and mild cursing and resewing. It's just par for the course for me. I used some sparkly pink to give it a wet look and I like it, so I'm going to make a few more.  They are big blocks...

Since both of these blocks have some green in them I'm going to add them to the Rainbow Scrap Challenge tomorrow.

Have a lovely weekend.

  1. The water lily is lovely! Perfect fabrics, colours almost like from the Monet paintings.

  2. they are both so lovely--i like that sparkle-y fabric--;)))it looks like water drops for sure...nice job on these..hugs, Julierose

  3. Great. I really like the lily pad. There is a lily pad garden in our hometown in Texas.
