Want to see my cookies?

Oh I guess I should take to covering off first...

These are the spumoni cookies  I made from the recipe here http://spiralj2.blogspot.com/2017/12/spumoni-cookies.html
They tasted good, but were not as pretty as the ones on the Spiral blog.

and a veggie plate to bring with the cookies to our niece's house for Christmas Eve dinner.
We had a wonderful time - Thank you, Mary and Mark.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Terri

Made for Christmas Gift

I started this last year for my Sister-in-Law as a hostess gift for inviting us to Thanksgiving... It didn't get done. I made the 5 paper pieced Mimbulus Mimbletonias, but after that I was stumped as to what to do with them.  What colors to use, what quilting to add, and quite afraid my skills wouldn't make a good enough product. I gathered up the blocks and fabrics and set it all aside.  Tuesday I decided to finish it after remembering something my drawing teacher taught us... photographic renderings were for cameras. Art work is made by humans and while not perfect, brings more insight to the piece.

Here's the piece, a table runner.

These close-ups show the real colors. (The pattern comes from Fandom in Stitches the Harry Potter section. I've made many of them.  It's a great houseplant - no watering, no sunshine required.)

The binding is red roses, and brings out the MM flowers.  Hope she likes it.

So this is to wish you all a Merry Christmas, and a Happy Holiday of your choice.

Hugs,
Terri

The Latest Butterfly

I tried to get artsy with the body (in private, of course, LOL). The body fabric is the sky with planets. I wanted the top and bottom to be different... they are. Oh well, that just makes something interesting (or interstellar) to find.
The wings are blue with red lines woven in...makes it look more purple.

So I'm off to share this with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge Community.

We had snow again!  Looks like a couple of inches - it'll probably stay now.  We've used up all our get out of winter points already.

Have a lovely weekend.
Hugs,
Terri

Celebrating Butterflies

It's the first again....

Finished yesterday in time to share it with The Kaleidoscope of Butterflies
I especially like blue butterflies. I saw two tiny ones while on a walk in Sequoia National Park (in California) with my daughter and her family. One of my bestest memories.

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Terri

A

I've been wanting to paper piece this alphabet for a while... the Vulcan alphabet. This is "A".

Of course, I made a mistake.  One of the pieces should be red... I plan to use my fabric paints to fix this problem.  I like the make, and plan on making other letters in different red prints on white. WWSS - What would Spock Say?  (You can find the patterns on Fandom in Stitches.)

Have a great Holiday Week!
Hugs,
Terri

Or Kid Blooms

Two years ago in Washington State it bloomed... now again.

ANNND it happened in this darkest time of the year!

Here are some other poses...

too much flash, too far away

forgot to turn the image

too far away to see the purple veins, but you can see my Southern Magnolia from a seed.

too far away

So there it is - My Joy for the day! (It doesn't take much these days are so dark and dreary.) (Second runner up for Joy of the day would probably be how my hair turned out when I rolled the front - see what I mean... not much.)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Terri
